President Pusey has announced the election of eight young scientists and scholars as junior fellows. They will study at Harvard for three years, beginning next fall.
The new Junior Fellows are: Hans C, Andersen, physical chemistry: Robert C. Darnton, '60, European history: Vincent M. DeLany, theoretical physics: Elling O. Eide '57, Chinese literature: Donald A. Martin '62, philosophy: James C. Nohrnberg, English and American literature: Mark S. Ptashne, molecular biology: Richard J. Zeckhauser '62, economics.
The fellows are selected on the basis of outstanding scholarly promise. They may pursue whatever studies they wish, and are free from all academic regulations for degrees. Each man receives a stipend of between $3500 and $5500 a year.
