Boston College upset North Dakota, 4 to 3, in the first round of the NCAA hockey tournament in Providence last night.

Eagle sophomore Gerry York's second goal, at 13:38 of the third period, was the clincher for B.C.

Boston College took an early 2-0 lead on first period goals by York and Dick Fuller, North Dakota closed the gap to 32, but York's 20-footer gave the Eagles a safe lead.

In the other semifinal game, Western champion Michigan Tech will meet Ivy League champ Brown tonight.
