Thirty Harvard students stood by and watched while two unidentified youths slugged and kicked Arthur W. Campbell '60 at 12:15 a.m. this morning in front of Hazen's. One friend of Campbell's tried to help him.

Campbell, Harvard middleweight boxing champion last year, said he "never got in a punch." He was treated after the beating at Holyoke Center where he was given three stiches and four injections.

Early this morning the Cambridge police had not yet found the attackers.
