B.C. Six Bombs Brown in ECAC

Boston College fired in four goals in the first six minutes of the ECAC Tournament championship game against Brown Saturday night at Boston Arena, and coasted to a 6-2 win and the Eastern hockey crown. In the consolation game, Boston University walloped Clarkson 4-0 to take third place in the tourney.

B.C. and Brown will now face the best two teams from the West in the NCAA Tournament, to be played at Brown's home rink in Providence this weekend.

Brown skated on even terms with B.C. after the first six minutes of the championship game, but B.C.'s tremendous opening burst was enough to earn it the title.

B.C. had gained the finals the night before by edging Clarkson 3-2 in overtime, on goal that Clarkson claimed went in illegally off a B.C. skate.

Brown reached the finals the hard way--by upsetting top-seeded B.U. The Bruins scored two early breakaway goals while short-handed, and then hung on by keeping out 24 B.U. shots in the third period.
