It does no good to patch streets if the patches are going to wash out in the next day's rain. Each week City workmen fill three-foot deep holes on Mass. Ave. near Littauer and each week the some holes reappear, a little deeper than before. The holes are filled with gravel held together by something sticky, but it obviously is not sticky enough. Bicyclists who try to avoid the gaps in the street run the risk of being struck by a car.

Is there some reason why the same incompetent patch jobs is performed over and over again? Surely there must be some contractor in the City able to do a patch job which will last more than 24 hours.
