City Council to Back New Pedestrian Mall

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Cambridge City Council will probably approve today Harvard's $2.8 million proposal to link the Law School and the Yard with a pedestrian mall.

The Finance Committee of the Council is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. this afternoon and discuss the proposal. It will send a recommendation to the full Council, which is expected to take a final vote at its meeting later in the evening.

Under the proposal, Harvard would build an underpass under Cambridge St. and the City would close off part of Kirk land St.
