Two extra points provided the margin for Hurlbut Hall as they edged Mower 14-12 for the freshman touch football championship yesterday. Pat Cashman threw one touchdown pass and scored the other himself for the winners.
Cashman's second score came in the final quarter, erasing Mower's 12-7 lead. Cleve Livingston threw to Vaho Rebassoo for the extra point. Rebassoo also caught the pass for the crucial first conversion.
Semi-Conscious
Tom Bulger of Hurlbut, in a half-unconscious state, saved the game for Hurlbut with last-minute defensive heroics. Bulger suffered a concussion on the first play of the second half. But on the last Mower series he broke up an end run and then intercepted a pass to clinch the victory.
Bulger is now hospitalized, and his condition is not serious.
Hurlbut will meet Yale's freshman champs at New Haven on Yale weekend.
