Parries and attacks are sharpening in the four-round varsity intrasquad George H. Breed tournament which began this week.

Senior Al Makaltic swept past seven opponents to win the first round of the competition Tuesday. Makaitis edged senior Paul Profeta 5-4 in his only close bout. Profeta won six matches to place second, and junior Bob Damus won five to take third.

Matches in epee begin at 7:30 p.m. tonight IAB. Top contenders will be senior Paul Mundle, first in epee last year, captain Rick Kolombatovich, and sophomore Steve Shea, captain of last year's freshman team.
