An MBTA subway car was derailed at 6:03 p.m. last night at the Harvard Square Station. No one was injured.
Service had to be shut own on a long section of track in order to "re-rail" the car, and a bus service was quickly established between Harvard and Kendall Squares.
The cause of the accident is undetermined. An MBTA official said it was the first such mishap in his 25 years of service, although a conductor mentioned it happened two years ago "back on the siding, where no one knew about it.
