Band Serenades Varsity In Dillon Locker Rooms

Bobby Leo muses at the muses who filled the football locker room after last night's last full Varsity practice. The serenade was the Harvard Band's way of boosting, with trumpet and song, the already high spirits of the team that will vanquish Yale.

Practice ended with a burst of shouts and a massive rush toward Dillon Field House. There band members had gathered and had blocked out a large V in red railroad flares on the turf. The team entered Dillon though the burning victory sign to frenzied cheers and Harvard song. The band followed the team into the locker room and continued to play fight songs for 15 minutes.

The team leaves today for New Haven, perhaps more confident in their cause, dedicated to their purpose as a result of the serenade.
