The undefeated soccer team plays Exeter today, in what may be one of its most difficult games. Although Exeter has a 2-1-3 record, it is traditionally "up" for the Harvard freshman game.
Harvard's team travels to the University of Connecticut Saturday. UConn has a well-drilled, fast team that is drawn heavily from stars of Connecticut high school soccer.
Although the Harvard freshmen are unscored upon, Dana Getchell, freshman soccer coach, sees the need for improvement. He felt the 3-0 and 6-0 victories over Tufts and M.I.T. were more the result of physical conditioning than team effort.
The 3-0 win over Dartmouth was the team's best effort, but it played consistently during half the game. Getchell is waiting for "four quarters of good soccer."
The freshmen face Princeton, Brown, and Yale in November. Brown, with a 5-0 record, is the best freshman team in the Ivy League.
