Two Harvard freshmen swept national squash tournaments during the vacation.

Jose Gonzales captured the National Junior championship at Amherst, December 19-21, winning all his matches by 3-0 scores.

Gonzales, who still has another year ahead of him in the Juniors, defeated interscholastic champion Larry Terrell of St. Paul's in the finals.

Terrell, younger brother of Crimson number five player Allen Terrell, had slipped by Harvard's Rick Sterne in the semi-finals, 15-12 in the fifth game.

But Sterne bounced back to capture the College Freshman Tournament at the Racket-Tennis Club of New York, December 28-30, with 2-0 scores in all matches. Toammate Gonzalez did not enter the tournament.

Varsity captain Romer Holleran advanced to the prestigious University Club of New York Invitational Tournament, but then lost in three close games to an old opponent. Colin Adair of McGill University. Adair is one of Canada's top players.
