Faye Levine '65 retired last night to her country hideaway for a quiet weekend of study. She plans no special activity in preparation for the Class Marshal election Monday. Monday is Miss Levine's 21st birthday.
Yesterday her photograph and stories about her candidacy appeared in the Boston Globe, Herald, Record-American, and Christian Science Monitor, as well as on the United Press International and Associated Press wire services. She was interviewed on WHDH television, WNAC, WORL, WNEW, and WCBS radio.
In Dunster House, HCUA officials circulated a petition opposing her candidacy, which they had hitherto declared non-existent.
Meanwhile, Miss Levine spoke to reporters from Time, Life, and Newsweek, asserting that her candidacy was within the "Harvard Tradition" of enlightened progress: that tradition is best served by intelligent challenge.
As she was getting into the car that whisked her off to her hideaway, Miss Levine issued her first public statement to the CRIMSON, "Hi," she said.
