Fencers Bow

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Not even a dazzling 6-3 victory by the swashbucklers in foil could save the Crimson fencers' buoyed hopes, as Columbia defeated them 16-11 Saturday afternoon.

Dave Dooley, Tom Musliner, and Dan Isaacson each won two bouts in the foil, the weapon in which Harvard was expected to lose heavily, and one of Musliner's victories came against Steve Weinstein, an All-American.

While the sabre men salvaged three bouts, two by captain Jon Kolb and one by Al Makaitis, the epee squad met with near disaster, as Columbia substituted liberally and only Rich Kolombatovich and Dave Redmond prevailed in one contest each.
