The Crimson trackmen should beat Dartmouth easily in their meet at Hanover today, but the contest will be an important indicator of Harvard's chances in the Heptagonals.
Two of the Green's strong events, the hurdles and the broad jump, are Crimson question marks for the Heps. Tony Lynch, one of the league's top hurdlers, will have to be at his best today to beat Dartmouth sophomore Jim Season. The Crimson's Jack Spitzberg, who scored a suprise victory over Lynch in 120-highs against Princeton last week, could give McCurdy & Co. a big boost if he too could out-run the Dartmouth sophomore.
In the indoor Heps, Aggrey Awori and Chris Ohiri gave the Crimson a one-two finish, but Harvard performances in the event this spring haven't been up to that championship calibre. Awori has competed only sporadically because of his heavy sprint schedule, and Ohiri managed only a 22 ft., 4 1/2 in. leap against Princeton. Dartmouth's Bill Hayden, who took third in the indoor Heps, will give these two a rough test today.
