Lampoon Honors Cinema Horrors

The Lampoon made public yesterday its 25th annual series of Movie Worsts. "The tedious process of sorting nominations, holding special screenings, and making final selections is over," said George W. S. Trow '65, president of the humor magazine, "and we are pleased to announce the results."

The result most likely to have ugly repercussions is the choice of "Cleopatra" both for Worst Picture of the Year and Worst Film of the Century. (The latter award, given for the century 1863-1963 was last presented in 1958.) Usually reliable sources said last night that stars Elizabeth Taylor (winner of The Timothy Cratchit Memorial Crutch) and Richard Burton (recipient of the Wilde Oscar) have already left Boston in a huff.

Other awards: Worst Supporting Actor (Roy Cohn in "Point of Order"), The Bratwurst for worst child actor (the entire cast of "Lord of the Flies"), the Cellophane Figleaf for false modesty (Ann Margret or "insisting she is not oversexed"), and the Woodward A. Wickham citation for consistency of performance (Steve Reeves in "Samson Agonistes").
