Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
V. Lee Archer '65, of Eliot House and Wichita, Kan., was elected president of Harvard Student Agencies, Inc. for 1964-65 yesterday. Archer succeeds Bradford K. Perry '64 as head of the nearly $2 million student enterprise.
In his year-end report to the annual meeting of members of the Corporation yesterday afternoon, Perry hailed HSA's success during his administration. "Public relations have been at an all-time high and attacks on HSA have subsided" this year, Perry said, pointing to a new level of community satisfaction with the organization and its services.
Perry disagreed with the proposals that Dustin M. Burke '52, director of Student Employment and general manager of HSA, resign one of his positions. He praised Burke's work with the Agencies since their establishment.
The defeated HCUA report on HSA, which had recommended splitting Burke's job, came under fire from Perry. He noted that the Council plans to "investigate us again, as they have been for years." He urged the utmost in cooperation, however, for any group that seeks information about HSA.
$150,000 Earnings
Archer, who served HSA as its treasurer for the past year, cited the prospects for sustained growth of the Corporation. Student earnings for 1963-64, he said, are expected to reach an all-time high of $150,000.
HSA also elected W. Frank White '66, of Winthrop House and Canton, Miss., to its Board of Directors; Charles W. Filson '66, of Adams House and Springfield, Ill., treasurer; and M. Daniel Zeddies '67, of Pennypacker Hall and St. Paul Minn., clerk.
