Sullivan Selected For '64 Marshal

Richard H. Sullivan '39, President of Reed College, has been named Chief Marshal to lead the alumni at commencement exercises on June 11.

As Chief Marshal, he will preside at the commencement luncheon in the Fogg Art Museum and later in the afternoon will lead the procession into the Tercentenary Theatre for the annual meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association. A group of 150 aides and marshals which Sullivan is to appoint will aid him in directing the day's activities.

Sullivan received the A.B. magna cum laude in 1939 and the A.M. in 1940 from Harvard. As is traditional, the Chief Marshal was chosen from the class holding its 25th reunion.

Prior to becoming President of Reed College in 1956, Sullivan was executive Vice-President and Treasurer of the Educational Testing Service. He is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Oregon Governor's Committee on Science, Engineering and the New Technologies.
