Seventy-five Cliffies swam 187 miles in an eight-day Radcliffe Swimming Marathon, which ended Wednesday in a frantic last-minute splashing melee between the South and East House teams.
South emerged as winner with a total of 74 miles swum by 20 girls. East came in five miles behind to experience its first marathon defeat in five years. North House trailed with its 24 representatives churning 44 miles.
Roxana Brooks '68 and Linda Little '67 led South House to its victory by swimming a third of its mile total between them.
The three South House brick dormitories will receive silver Paul Revere Bowis for their triumph.
