To the Editors of the Harvard CRIMSON:

I would like to call attention to the first of three editorials on the Doty Report, which appeared in the October 7, 1964 issue of the Crimson. The editorial states: "For example, Nat Sci 6 combines physics, chemistry and biology in giving the student tools to gain insight into a wide range of scientific topics.--On the other hand, a course like Nat Sci 10 is too narrowly conceived to qualify as a future General Education course."

Your portrayal of Natural Science 5 appears to me to be an accurate, though unintended, condensation of the Course Catalogue description of Natural Sciences 10. To say that Natural Sciences 10 is "too narrowly conceived" betrays profound incognizance not only of the nature and content of this course but also of the Harvard Course Cataloge. Yours truly,   Rustam Z. Kothavala
