Fleeing Vandals Set False Alarm

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Cambridge crime wave swept on during the weekend, as a group of vandals turned in a false alarm in Winthrop House Sunday night.

At 9:20 p.m. the fire bell in A Entry sounded; bringing hundreds of Winthrop men and their companions into the courtyard, but no fire could be located.

Several Cambridge high school students had reportedly tried to crash a party, and when they were chased, pulled a fire alarm and eluded the pursuers.

University Police arrived on the scene, but apprehended no one. The engineers turned off the alarm in a few moments, and celebration of Columbus Day continued.
