Statistics May Become College Concentration

Pending Faculty approval, undergraduates will be able to concentrate in statistics starting next September, Charles F. Mosteller, professor of Mathematical Statistics, said yesterday.

The Committee on Educational Policy voted its approval on December 18 and referred the matter to the Faculty for final action, according to Mosteller. In a related move, the Faculty has already empowered the Committee on Applied Mathematics to offer a program of undergraduate concentration.
