Varying Comments Greet Experimental South House Meals

Girls in South House have expressed mixed opinions on their first experience with all-House lunches. In an experiment lasting until Christmas, girls in Barnard, Bertram and Briggs are all eating lunch in Briggs Hall.

The meal lasts from 12 'to '2, rather than from 12:30 to 1:15, and is served cafeterias style by the kitchen staff rather than taken by the girls buffet style.

President outlined the plan in her address at the formal opening of the College. It is assumed that the new experiment will have the way for eventual replacement of individual dormitory, dining halls by large all-House cafeterias.

"The floors in Briggs are too slippery," whined one Barnard girl. "You really do meet new people," said, another girl, although the person standing next to her thought that conversations were exclusively among girls from the same dorm.
