Kaiser, Karl Win Prize

Walter J. Kaiser '54, assistant professor of English and comparative Literature, and Barry D. Karl, former instructor in history and literature, have won this year's Faculty Prize of the Harvard University Press, an award for the most distinguished manuscripts submitted by Harvard scholars during the year.

They will share the $2,000 prize. This is the first time in eight years that the Faculty Prize has had two winners.

Kaiser received the prize for his forthcoming book, Praisers of Folly: Erasmus. Rabelais, Shakespeare, while Karl, who is now an assistant professor of History at Washington University, St. Louis, for Executive Reorganization and Reform in the New Deal.
