Stansky Will Become Kirkland Senior Tutor

Peter D.L. Stansky, instructor in History, will serve as acting Allston Burr Senior Tutor in Kirkland House next year while Ernest R. May, associate professor of History, is on sabbatical.

Stansky, a specialist in English history, has been on the Faculty since 1957 and has acted as assistant senior tutor in Kirkland House since 1960. A graduate of Yale, he received his Ph.D. from Harvard after studying for several years at King's College, Cambridge.

May, who teaches a course in the history of American foreign relations, will do research for a year at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford.

Stansky will be one of three new senior tutors next year. Stanley N. Katz '55, instructor in History, will be senior tutor in Leverett House, and the Rev. Robert W. Haney '56 will be acting senior tutor in Adams House.
