Three Baseballers Named All-Stars

With three games still remaining in a busy schedule, the varsity baseball team is already picking up post-season honors and awards. Three Crimson starters (Paul Del Rossi, James "Curly" Combs, and Tom Bilodeau) were named to the 1963 Greater Boston League all-star team by coaches of GBL teams Saturday.

Pitcher Del Rossi, whose 3-0 record in league competition gave the varsity its second straight Greater Boston title, is the only Crimson all-star repeater. The 6 ft. 175-pound junior has been the Crimson's top moundsman for two years and owns a 17-2 pitching record over that time span.

Leftfielder Combs won his berth on the strength of a .385 league batting average and is one of only two selections residing outside the Boston area. Combs was also one of the few seniors to make the squad.

Bilodeau has been coach Norm Shepard's starting shortstop all season and is one of six sophomores on the all-star roster. His .286 batting average led the league's shortstops.

Boston College topped the coaches' selection list with four all-stars. Northeastern, Tufts, and Boston University had two representatives each while Brandeis and M.I.T. contributed a player apiece.
