Dunster Shelter Signs Removed

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

There are no fallout shelter signs in Dunster House today. Three Harvard students removed them early Monday morning, then sent a letter to President Pusey and the CRIMSON stating the reason for their action.

The students first questioned the practicality of the shelter, then criticized the fact that there are as yet no provisions or supplies stored there. The Dunster Basement was designated a shelter area last Thursday. The students also pointed out that the basement is locked from midnight to 8 a.m.

Charging that putting up shelter signs is not equal to providing adequate protection, the students requested that the signs be removed. "If new signs appear, we shall continue to protest by removing them," they concluded.
