The varsity golf team had trouble yesterday, but still managed to hang on and beat Dartmouth, 4-3. The win was the team's seventh of the season against six losses.

The lower-ranked players sealed the win for the Crimson after the top two golfers had lost. Stan Abrams, leading by three holes with three to go, fell apart on the last three holes and was tied at the end of 18. He halved the first four extra holes, but lost on the twenty-third, one-up. Abrams had played the first 15 holes in even par.

Sophomore Jim Campen, playing in the number two position, lost 3 and 2, while Captain Bob Holton was beaten in the number five match, one-up on the twenty-second hole.

But Pete Pague, number three, Herb Wollan, number four, John Olson, number six, and Doug Eaton, number seven, came through to win the match for the Crimson. Olson posted the day's biggest win, 6 and 5, while the others all won with little difficulty.

This Saturday the Crimson travels to Princeton to play a Tiger team that has lost just three matches this season. It will be the last match of the season for Harvard.
