Lacrossemen Will Face-Off Against Weak Elephants

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Back at nearly full strength after having been riddled with injuries, the varsity lacrosse team should have little trouble as it goes against Tufts this afternoon on the Jumbo's field.

Tufts' main power is at the attack position, where it boasts Bobble Day, co-captain and a possible candidate for All-American honors. Day is backed up by Mike McConnel, a sophomore and junior Teddy McCarthy, a crease attack-man who leads the Jumbos in goals thus far.

Tufts Loses Strength

Tufts starts fast, but, with very little support from the bench, seems to fade fast, too. They have just one victory so far this season, against Worcester Polytech. Although they have jumped have lost games to both Brown (10-7) and the University of Massachusetts (12-0).

The Crimson is riding on the creet of a four-game winning streak which started two weeks ago with a 7-5 win ever Brown. Victories over Pens, Holy Cross, and Boston Lacrosse Club followed. The attackmen have come to life in the last two games. If this continues is should do much to keep the team on a more even keel. Dick Ames threw in three goals against B.L.c Saturday. More important, Ames added, three assists, something lacking in his game up to this point.

With this improved attack and continued good support from the midfielders, an easy victory seems in the offing this afternoon.
