Harold S. Ulen, Harvard's head swimming coach from 1929 to 1959, received the highest award given by the National Collegiate and Scholastic Swimming Coaches Association last night. The sixth recipient of the award, Ulen was cited for his outstanding contributions to the development of swimming as a competitive sport at schools and colleges in the U.S. In his 30 years at Harvard, Ulen's teams won a total of 261 dual meets while losing only 48.
