Conference to Discuss City Shopping Centers

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"An Examination of the Shopping Center as a Nucleus of Intercity Activity" will be the theme of the 1963 Urban Design Conference at the Graduate School of Design April 26 and 27.

Several well-known shopping centers designed by prominent architects throughout the country will serve as case studies for panels, which will include the developer and representative citizens from the locality, as well as architects and city planners.

Among the questions presented to each panel will be: Has the center affected local cultural or recreational life; Has it added or detracted from other local facilites? What unanticipated developments have followed in its wake?
