Architect Jose Luis Sert, dean of the Faculty of Design, will take a leave of absence until September. He plans to lecture at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London, to complete work on museum buildings in St. Paul de Vence, France, and to visit architectural works and schools in Egypt, Iran, India, and Japan.

During his absence, the acting dean of the Faculty of Design will be Martin Meyerson, director of the Center for Urban Studies. Meyerson is also vice-chairman of the board of ACTION (the American Council to Improve Our Neighborhoods).

Before leaving, Sert announced that Walter Bogner will be acting chairman of the Department of Architecture until next September.
