It's Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year time again. Students returning from classes at 1 p.m. today may catch a glimpse of the 1963 damsel, actress Shirley MacLaine.
Miss MacLaine will be at the Pudding Clubhouse at 12 Holyoke St. for various public ceremonies before attending a luncheon banquet. Edward A. Crane '35, mayor of Cambridge, will present an award from the City. Harvard students are expected to pack the street.
After matching wits with Pudding dignitaries and gentlemen of the press, Miss MacLaine will visit with Gov. Endicott Peabody '42 in the State House.
Described in a press release as "blue-eyed, red-topped, and freckle-faced," Miss MacLaine has received two Academy Award nominations. Her first was for Some Came Running, and the other for The Apartment.
Miss MacLaine, who is flying in from Hollywood to receive the Pudding's plaudits, has recently finished the film Irma La Douce, in which she plays the lead.
