The Harvard Council for Undergraduate Affairs has begun a survey of available meeting space for student organizations around the University. The Council hopes to "save extra rooms" and to claim some currently used for storage in the Houses.
"There is just not enough space in the activities center to meet the requests we get for meeting rooms," a Council spokesman explained yesterday. He said he expected applications for conference space to "increase significantly" in the next academic year.
The HCUA will also ask the University for a full-time secretary to help student organizations. It is especially concerned about recently formed activities which need but cannot afford a commercial secretarial service.
