The annual Harvard-Radcliffe blood drive is lagging far behind those of previous years. More than one third of the students who pledged blood to the Red Cross have failed to appear at Memorial Hall to make their contributions.
Lee Grace, director of the Drive, reports that actual contributions are running forty to fifty pints behind the anticipated amount. "We're just depressed because we really depend on the Harvard drive to carry a great deal of the operations in the Boston area." Miss Grace said.
Red Cross regulations stipulate that all persons under 21 must have their parents' permission to donate blood. Miss Grace explained that students who want to give blood and have received permission may make an appointment to do so at Memorial Hall this week.
The drive began Monday and continues to Friday. Hours are between 10:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
