The Crimson squash team puts its 23-game winning streak on the line against M.I.T. tonight, with every expectation that the 24th straight win will be easier than most of the others.
The Engineers have got just about nothing--in fact that seems to be a permanent condition of sorts for the Tech racquetmen. Last year they were subdued without any trouble at all by the Crimson, 9-0.
Best in Country
And M.I.T. is up against a Harvard squad that looks like the best in the country--especially after they demolished by a 9-0 score a McGill squad that was supposed to be tough competition for them.
If McGill was a strong team, it's difficult to imagine what Harvard will do when it meets a weak one. The Canadians took only two of 29 games from their Harvard opponents. If you throw in the "perfect game" the Harvard team played against Cornell Friday, it turns out that the Crimson players have won 54 of the 56 games they've played during their last two matches.
Tonight's match starts at 7 p.m. at Hemenway Gymnasium, and finished off Harvard's pre-Christmas schedule. After vacation the team should have no trouble until it meets a potentially tough Princeton squad in February.
