The Kirkland House soccer squad beat back a stubborn Quincy team 3-1 yesterday to win the House intramural soccer title. The Kirkland champs will meet their Yale counterparts, Pierson College, in New Haven tomorrow.
The Deacons drew first blood early in the game, as Jay Shelton skimmed a long shot through the fingers of Quincy goalie Dick McCaffery. But the Quins bounced back in the second period, with Jon Trobe angling a bullet into the corner of the nets.
Later in the same period, Tom McKenna put Kirkland ahead to stay with a boot that McCaffery caught.
