Charities Drive Ends With Total of $27,000

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Combined Charities solicitors reported a final-day collection of $2500, bringing the total for this year's drive to more that $27,000.

David M. Murdoch '64, chairman of the drive, said he was "very happy" adding that students were "most generous."

The preliminary figures released this morning put donations at $4000 behind last year's total of $31,000, but Murdoch pointed out that up to $1000 more is expected from mail solicitation, and the drive has an additional $1000 already in its account.

Murodch also indicated that administrative costs fell this year to one percent of the gross, as opposed to three per cent last year.
