John T. Edsall '23, professor of Biological Chemistry, has been named president of the Sixth International Congress of Biochemistry, which will take place in New York July 27-31.
Edsall will head the first such congress in the United States; previous ones were held, at three-year intervals in Cambridge, England; Paris, Brussels, Vienna, and Moscow.
Dr. Severo Ochoa of New York University, president of the International Union of Biochemistry, the congress's sponsor, announced the appointment in New York.
