LEHIGH GAME: A YEAR AGO

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After last year's Lehigh game, which Harvard lost 22-17, coach John Yovicsin admitted he had "never seen one like that before."

The Engineers had never scored a point against a Harvard team before entering the Stadium, but they left with three touchdowns, all scored by linemen. Harvard was obviously the superior ball team from the stats, and had victory seemingly clinched as the fourth quarter started.

Then everything went wrong. Passes were intercepted, a snap from center missed its mark and rolled playfully to the endzone where Lehigh recovered it, and a Lehigh tackle took a pitchout from a Harvard quarterback and went all the way to score.

The Crimson fans couldn't believe what they saw. The only consolation was that if Harvard had to lose, it certainly picked a novel way to do it.
