Plays by Albee Open Tomorrow

Two plays by the much-acclaimed young American dramatist Edward Albee will make up the program opening tomorrow evening at the Actors' Playhouse in the Hotel Bostonian.

Receiving their local professional premieres will be "The Zoo Story" and "The American Dream," directed by Samuel Hirsch. Drawing enthusiastic audiences in new York, the first play ran for more than two years and the second for more than one.

Using only two characters, "Zoo Story" is a chilling thriller taking place around a Central Park bench. "The American Dream" includes a sexy young lad and a sage old grandma, and makes some perceptive points about contemporary idealism through comedic means.

Both works have been performed all over Europe; and Albee has a new play completed for a Broadway opening this fall. The double-bill debuting tomorrow at the Actors' Playhouse will run three weeks through September 9. The production follows the group's successful offerings of three French farces.
