The Cambridge City Council will vote next week on a motion introduced yesterday by Councillor Alfred E. Vellucci to name the intersection of Bow and Mt. Auburn streets YALE SQUARE. The chief occupant of the proposed Yale Square is the Harvard Lampoon.
In introducing his motion, Vellucci said he was taking the CRIMSON officials expressed pleasure last night that the responsibility of recognizing the great founder of Yale had finally come before the City Council, but maintained that the idea was Vellucci's, not theirs. A CRIMSON official said that "the Lampoon is indeed fortunate to have this honor bestowed upon it." The motion will not be considered until next week because, under the new rules of the Council, an order must be submitted to the City Clerk no later than the Thursday before a Sunday Council meeting to be considered at that meeting. Vellucci did not get his motion, in until yesterday, and Councillor G. d'Andelot Belin (Yale '39 and a former editor of the Yale Dally News) exercised his right to object to its consideration until next week. Vellucci has constantly tried to challenge the new rules
