Isadore Twersky '51, an authority on Rabbinical literature and medieval Jewish history, has been promited to Associate Professor of Hebrew and Jewish History, effective July 1.

Dr. Twersky studied at the University under a leading scholar of Judaism. Harry A. Wolfson, who is now Nathan Littauer Professor of Hebrew Literature and Philosophy, Emeritus.

The Harvard University Press this year published Dr. Twersky's study of Rabad of Poequlerwa: A 12th Century Talmudist. He is the author of many other works on Jewish studies.
