The following prizes were recently announced: to Robert J. Maddox 2G, graduate Bowdoin Classics award, for his original essay in Attic Greek entitled "Plato's Attitude to Poetry in the Republic": and to Jordan Arsogion honorable mention, the undergraduate Bowdoin Classics award, for his translation into Greek. There was no award for the graduate or undergraduate prize for Latin.

The David A. Wells prize was awarded to William P. Travis (Ph.D., 1962) for his thesis entitled "on the Theory of Commercial Policy."
