The year-old conviction of Peter Seeger '40 for contempt of Congress was unanimously dismissed by the U.S. Court of Appeals in New York Friday. Seeger was indicated for refusal to answer questions in a hearing conducted by a sub-committee of the House Un-American Activities Committee.
The court held the indictment was defective because it failed to properly state the sub-committee's authority.
