SOCIALIST 'TICKLED PINK' BY TURNOUT FOR MOVIE

"We're tickled pink," Joseph F. Knowles Jr. '65, secretary of the Socialist club, stated last night, announcing that the club's May-Day showing of "Ten Days That Shook the World" had attracted more viewers than the Leverett House old library could hold.

"They're hanging from the chandeliers in there now, and we've scheduled a second showing at 10 o'clock," he added. The film dramatization of the book by John Reed '10 was directed by Sergei Eisenstein in 1928.

A representative of the Young Socialist Alliance, who identified his group as "the youth organization of the Trotskyite Socialist Workers' Party," was distributing literature at the door. He claimed the movie was made from a censored version of the book and was "typical of the Stalinist perversion of history."
