After finishing in a tie for tenth place in the Eastern Intercollegiates at Cornell over the weekend, the varsity golf team snapped back on Monday to edge out, 4 to 3, a tough Big Red seven which had finished fourth in the Intercollegiates.
Five Crimson golfers managed to break 80 on the narrow and twisting 6800-yard Cornell course as the team registered its eighth win of the season. At number one, Bruce Johnstone marked up his ninth individual victory of the year by nipping Jeff Pass 1 up on the eighteenth hole. Stan Abrams' string of 11 straight triumphs was ended as he bowed to Dave Hamilton in the number two slot by a margin of 2 and 1.
