Little Change Made In House Parietals

Masters decided at their meeting Wednesday to keep Junior common rooms open to women until 12 midnight on Fridays, but refused to extend parietal hours beyond 8 p.m. on Saturdays when there are home football games.

Elliott Perkins '23, Master of Lowell House, explained that the folbies of human nature get "a running start on these football Saturdays," citing the danger of automobile accidents involving Harvard men and their dates. "This is something no undergraduate will believe," he said.

Dean von Stade announced that there would be no liberalization of freshman parietals. "The place really isn't as much of a jail as it sounds," he stated, noting the Union's five common rooms and "a number of weekend parties."

He doubted that a majority of the freshmen favored more parietal hours.
