John F. Enders, recently appointed Higgins University Professor at Harvard, won the 1962 Howard Taylor Ricketts Memorial Award from the University of Chicago. The Noble-Prize winner will accept the award in Chicago May 31 and will speak on recent observations on reactions of cells in culture to viral infections. The Ricketts award is named after the University of Chicago bacteriologist who discovered the micro-organism that causes typhus fever and proved that Resky Mountain spotted fever is transmitted by ticks.
