Playing in some of the most miserable weather of the spring, the varsity golf team won the Greater Boston Tournament yesterday afternoon on the Walliston Golf Club course.

The Crimson's five man total of 813 was fourteen strokes better than that of runner-up Tufts. None of the remainder of the field, which included Boston University, Boston College, Brandeis, M.I.T., and Babson even came close.

The best individual 36 hole total for Harvard was Dave Rudnick's 84-74: 153. Only a stroke behind was Bruce Johnstone with 81-78: 159. Stan Abrams shot 82-85: 167. Herb Wollan went out in 83 and came in with an 33 for a 166 total. John Livingood started out strong with a 77, but faltered on the last round with an 34.

On Thursday the golfers will go after their seventh and eighth wins of the season against Holy Cross and Brandeis on the Myopia Hunt Club course.
